  • Country of Origin: northern Australia, New Guinea
  • Habitat:

  • Description: One of a few genera of flowering plants requiring 'buzz pollination' by bees.
  • Culture: prefers a little drier soil than other CP's - grow in a deeper pot in a 50:50 sand:peat mix. Grows best with tropical conditions and uniformly damp, but not waterlogged soils.
    Dry summer dormancy in its native habitat, but this dry period does not appear to be required in cultivation.
