Habitat: Shaded areas at an elevation of 2100 - 2700 metres in Yunnan
Description: This plant can be a shrub or tree, 3-50', with dark glossy green leaves, cultivated in warm parts of E. and S. Asia. The processed young leaves yield commercial tea. Freshly picked leaves are boiled to make green tea; allowed to ferment, they produce black tea. The seeds yield an oil.
Culture: Full to partial sun. Cool nights (<60F) in winter. Little to no fertilizer. Cottonseed meal in spring plus epsom salts (1T/gal) 1-2x annually. 2
