Centipede Plant, Tapeworm Plant, Ribbonbush One species in genus, a shrub, native to the Solomon Islands; stems flat, articulated, striate, usually leafless in flowering stage; leaves lanceolate, 0.5 to 2.5 inches long, often lobed at the base; flowers small, greenish, in little sessile clusters at alternate joints, calyx deeply 5-parted, stamens 8, stigmas 3; fruit an achene, triangular, smooth, enclosed by enlarged, deep-red or pruplish calyx.
