    Ctenanthe burle-marxii var. burle-marxii Kennedy, Canad. J. Bot. 60: 2367, fig. 2A-E. 1982. Type: Cultivated at Lyon Arboretum, Honolulu, Hawaii, from rhizomes from the collection of Roberto Burle Marx, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, originally brought from Espirito Santo, 5 Aug 1980, H. Kennedy 4098 (holotype RB; isotypes BH, CAN, HLA, K, NY, U, US).
