  • Provenance: 05NOV04 - Originally Encephalartos sp. - name changed to E. altensteinii after seeing a very similar plant at Smith College BG. Although there are some closely related species and subspecies, we have elected to change the name to E. altensteinii as it represents our best clarification of identity to date - cmorse.
