Nyctinasty

Nyctinasty refers to the movement of plants or plant parts in response to day/night changes. Examples include the closing of leaves in various members of the Marantaceae and Fabaceae at night as well as plants like Yucca which have flowers that have a nodding habit during the daylight hours, then turn upwards during the night.
