  • Description: The corms of this perennial plant grow stems up to 3 ft (1 m) high. The above-water leaves vary from linear to oval, and rarely have lobes at the base. The erect flower spike bears 1/2 in (12 mm) white flowers with the females more obviously stalked. It occurs down the east coast of USA and Cuba, and has become naturalized in the Panama Canal.
