  • Habitat: glabrous woody climber in thickets and forest borders

  • Description: [syn. Passiflora oblongifolia, P. tinifolia]

  • Uses: Sweet fruit are eaten fresh and used in the making of drinks and sherbets, ranking third or fourth in commercial importance among Passiflora species.

    Stems are used to make the main frame of baskets and fish traps in the Caribbean as they become especially hard and tough when dried.

  • Culture: Requires warm roots and free root run for best growth under glass. Relatively easy to grow outdoors in tropical and subtropical areas.
